- Widowed : losing husband or wife thought death
- Fiance : a man engaged to get married
- Fiancee : a woman engaged to get married
- Spouse : husband and wife
- In-laws : relatives by law
- Ex- wife : former wife

Describing Marital Status
To describe someone's marital status or relationship, there are 2 basic ways.
Sub + be + marital status.
Example
- She is single.
- They are married.
- He is widowed.
- ROZA is engaged.
- John and Mary were divorced last year.
Sub + get/got + marital status.
Example
- She got married to an American man.
- They got divorced last month.
- ROZA and Tom will get engaged next week.
- They got separated last year.
