Question Tag
Question Tag is used at the end of a statement to check or confirm information. A modal or an auxillary verb is always needed to form a question tag. In this lesson, you will be exploring question tags used with positive and negative statements.
Question Tag with BE
Positive statement, is,are,was,were + not + sub?
Example
- She is kind, isn't she?
- They are students, aren't they?
- Lions are dangerous, aren't they?
- Your teacher is very strict, isn't she?
- He was absent yesterday, wasn't he?
- She isn't a friendly girl, is she?
- They aren't hardworking, are they?
- Your teacher isn't strict, is he?
- He wasn't absent last week, was he?
Question Tag with ( Verbs)
Positive Statement, don't/doesn't/didn't + sub?
- She likes vegetables, doesn't she?
- They always play soccer on the weekend, don't they?
- Your teacher assigns homework regularly, doesn't he?
- ROZA met you last night, didn't she?
Negative Statement, do/does/did + sub?
- She doesn't like meat, does she?
- Our teacher doesn't give homework regularly, does he?
- They don't play soccer on weekdays, do they?

Question Tags with ( modal & auxillary verbs)
Modal verbs : can, could, will, would, should, may, must...etc.
Auxillary verbs : BE ( am,is,are,was,were), Do/does/did , Have/has
Positive statement, modal/auxi + not + sub?
- She is a teacher, isn't she?
- They can swim very well, can't they?
- Tom has done his homework, hasn't he?
- He should visit the doctor, shouldn't he?
Negative statement, auxi/modal + sub?
