Uses Of Third Conditional

Third Conditional is used to talk about unreal situation in the past, past regret and something that didn't happen in the past with the imagined result. យើងប្រើ Third Conditional ដើម្បីនិយាយអំពី ស្ថានភាពដែលមិនពិតក្នុងអតីតកាល ការសោកស្តាយក្នុងអតីតកាល ឬអ្វីដែលមិនបានកើតឡើងក្នុងអតីតកាល ជាមួយនិងការស្រមើស្រម័យអំពីលទ្ធផល ក្នុងអតីតកាល។

Ex. If I had reviewed the lesson, I would have passed the exam.

ប្រសិនបើខ្ញុំបានរំលឹកមេរៀន ខ្ញុំនិងបាប្រឡងជាប់។ ប៉ន្តែវាគ្រាន់តែជាការសោកស្តាយរបស់ខ្ញុំប៉ុណ្ណោះ ខ្ញុំមិនបានរំលឹក មេរៀន ហើយខ្ញុំក៏មិនបានប្រឡងជាប់ដែរ។

How do we form Third Conditional?

If + past perfect, sub + would have + past participle.
Sub + would have + past participle + if + past perfect.

ក្នុង Third Conditional មាន clause សំខាន់ៗ ២ គឺ

Reason or Conditional clause : If + past perfect ( យើងប្រើ if + past perfect)
ទម្រង់ និងការប្រើប្រាស់លម្អិតរបស់ Past Perfect សូមចុចទីនេះ Past Perfect.
Result or Main Clause : Sub + would have + V3

ប្រសិនបើយើងប្រើ Reason Clause មុន យើងត្រូវប្រើ comma "," ប្រសិនបើយើងប្រើវានៅខាងចុងប្រយោគ នោះយើងមិនចាំបាច់ប្រើ comma ទេ។

If I had enough time, I would have done my project online. ប្រសិនបើខ្ញុំមានពេលគ្រប់គ្រាន់ នោះខ្ញុំនិងបានបញ្ចប់ project របស់ខ្ញុំហើយ។
If she had known that she wouldn’t have done that. ប្រសិនបើនាងបានដឹងរឿងនោះ នាងនិងមិនបានធ្វើរឿងនោះទេ។
If they had read the instruction carefully, they wouldn’t have done the wrong thing. ប្រសិនបើពួកគេបានអាចការណែនាំដោយយកចិត្តទុកដាក់ នោះពួកគេមិនបានធ្វើខុសនោះទេ។

Roza would have joined your birthday If you had invited her.
She wouldn’t have missed the bus if she had gotten up eelier.
