Short Story in English | Six Cows and Lions

The Six Cows and The Lions

Once upon a time, in a quiet little forest surrounded by wide green meadows, there lived six cows. These cows were more than just neighbors—they were close friends who cared one another very deeply. Every morning, they would walk together to a large meadow on the desert nearby where the grass grew fresh, soft, and sweet. They spent the whole day grazing side by side, talking, playing, and enjoying the warmth of the sun.
Because they always stayed together at all time so there was no predator dared to come near them. Even the lions that lived nearby could not attack them because the cows were strong as a group and always protected one another.
The cows know that their safety depended on their unity, so they made a promise: they would always do everything together. For a long time, this promise kept them safe, happy, and strong.
However, one day a small argument broke out among them. None of them knew what the argument was really about, but each cow felt stubborn and upset. Instead of solving the problem, they allowed their anger to grow. Finally, they decided to separate. They walked away to a different part of the meadow, choosing to graze alone.
Hidden in the bushes, the lions had been watching the cows for a long time. They had always wanted to attack, but the cows had stayed together, making it impossible. When the lions saw the cows split apart, they knew their chance had come. Quietly and quickly, they approached the cows one by one. With no friends nearby to help or warn them, the cows had no way to protect themselves. No doubt the lions killed all six cows.
The moral of the story is Unity is strength.
When we stay together, support each other, and work as one, we are stronger than we ever could be alone.
