THIRSTY CROW
On a hot summer day, there was a thirsty crow who was flying across the dry fields in search of water. The sun burned fiercely above him, and the ground was dry, cracked and dusty. The crow had been flying for hours, but every pond, stream, and puddle he visited had completely dried up. The crow was exhausted. His wings felt heavy, and his throat was painfully dry but he refused to give up.At last, the crow spotted a small clay pot beside an old village house. Hope filled his heart, and he quickly flew down. He perched on the edge of the pot and looked inside. To his delight, there was a little water at the bottom. But when he tried to drink it, he found that his beak could not reach because the water level was too low.
Where there is a will, there is a way.
Clever thinking and persistent effort can help us overcome even the most difficult problems.
The Thirsty Crow
On a hot summer day, there was a thirsty crow who was flying across the dry fields in search of water. The sun burned fiercely above him, and the ground was dry, cracked and dusty. The crow had been flying for hours, but every pond, stream, and puddle he visited had completely dried up. The crow was exhausted. His wings felt heavy, and his throat was painfully dry but he refused to give up.
At last, the crow spotted a small clay pot beside an old village house. Hope filled his heart, and he quickly flew down. He perched on the edge of the pot and looked inside. To his delight, there was a little water at the bottom. But when he tried to drink it, he found that his beak could not reach because the water level was too low.
The crow tried to find ways to get the water but he could not find any clue. He was very hopeless. He was about to fly away but he knew giving up would not help him. Suddenly, he noticed small pebbles lying nearby. An idea flashed in his mind. One by one, he began picking up the pebbles and dropping them into the pot. Slowly, the water level began to rise. The crow continued his effort, even though he was tired. Finally, after he dropped plenty of pebbles, the water reached the top of the pot.
The crow bent down and drank the refreshing water. His strength returned, and he felt grateful for his own cleverness and perseverance. With renewed energy, he flew away happily into the sky.
