The Amazon Jungle
The Amazon Jungle, can also be called the Amazon Rainforest, is the world's largest tropical rainforest. Located in South America, Amazon Jungle covers more than 5.5 million square kilometers and lies across several countries such as Columbia, Peru, Brazil, Venezuela, Ecuador Bolivia, Guyana, Surinam and French Quiana. Amazon is considered as one the most essential natural environments on Earth since it is home to millions of animals and plants and it regulates the world climate.Why is Amazon Jungle Essential?
Amazon Jungle absorbs and releases massive amounts of carbon dioxide and releases oxygen into the atmosphere. It is functioning like lungs so that is the reason why it gets its nickname " Lungs of the Earth". Millions of animals, plants and insects are only found in the Amazon Jungle not elsewhere on the planets. Monkeys, clothes, jaguars, parrots and anacondas are some of the famous animals that can be found in the Amazon Jungle. Amazon River which is one of the longest and largest rivers in the world winds its way through the thick rainforest. Normally, it is hot and we in the Amazon. It rains a lot through out the year which is a great benefit for trees and other plants to grow well.Thick forest is the primary source of food and shelter for millions of species in the Amazon. Scientists around the world are super impressed in exploring and studying the plants and animals in the Amazon. Many indigenous people can still be found in the Amazon. They have lived in the Junlge of the Amazon for thousands of year and know the forest like the back of thier hand. They are the master of the jungle. They earn their living primitively using natural resources from the rainforest for food, shelter and traditional medicine.
The Amazon Jungle is facing several challenges. Deforestation is one of the key problems the jungle is facing. Many large areas of forest are being cleared for farming, building roads and mining. Deforestation causes destruction to the animals, plants and local communities. People around the world are working to gether to preserve and protect the Amazon because it is essential for the Earth's climate.
Rich in biodiversity, beauty and natural resources, the Amazon becomes one of the important treasures for people around the world.
