My First Vegetable Garden
Last spring, I decided to start my first vegetable garden. I was excited but didn't know where to begin. First, I needed to gather the right tools for the job.
I started by testing the soil in my backyard. Using a shovel, I dug some holes to check the soil quality. Then I used a rake to smooth out the ground and remove any rocks or debris.
Next, I used a hoe to break up the hard soil and make neat rows for planting. For the smaller plant that need more care, I used my trowel to dig small holes for seeds and seedlings.
Once everything was planted, watering became my daily routine. I used both a watering can for small and yooung seedlings and a garden hose for larger areas.
As the weeks passed, I had to weed regularly to remove unwanted plants from my garden. I also used pruning shears to trim or cut out some parts of the plants that are not important. My little wheelbarrow helped me transport compost and tools around the garden easily.
When preparing new planting areas, my spade is very useful for cutting clean edges and digging precise holes. Finally, after months of hard work, it was time to harvest my vegetables. The fresh tomatoes, carrots, and lettuce made all the effort worthwhile!
