Understanding -ed and -ing Adjectives

Adjectives ending in -ed and -ing are commonly used in English, but they have different meanings and uses. -ed adjectives are used to describe how feels about something or somebody to show our emotions or reactions while -ing adjectives are used to describe the thing or person that makes us feel a particular way. 

Usage  

 -ed adjectives : used to describe our feeling about something or somebody.

  • I was bored during the long meeting.
  • She felt excited about her birthday party.
  • He looked tired after running the marathon.

-ing adjectives : used to describe something or somebody that makes us feel some ways.

និយាយអំពីអ្វីមួយ ឬនរណាម្នាក់ដែលធ្វើអោយប៉ះពាល់ដល់អារម្មណ៏យើង

  • The movie was boring, so we left early.
  • It was an exciting football match!
  • Running a marathon is very tiring.
  • The ending of the story was surprising.
  • The science experiment was interesting.
