Nouns

A noun is the name of a person, place, thing, or animal.
Examples:
  • Person : teacher, pilot, driver, farmer
  • Place : Angkor Wat Temple, Phnom Pehn, Cambodia
  • Thing : car, pencil, fridge, phone, computer
  • Animal : tiger, lion, fish, bird
Sentence:
👉 Teachers teach student at school.

Pronouns

A pronoun is used in place of noun to avoid repetition. There are subject pronouns, object pronouns, reflexive pronouns. 

Subject Pronouns ( Sub pro + verb + obj)
  • I - I walk to school.
  • You - You are reading this post.
  • He - He drives carefully.
  • She - She waters her plants three times a day.
  • It - It barks all night.
  • We - We like going fishing on the weekend. 
  • They - They often play soccer on Saturday. 

Object Pronouns 

  • me : He likes me.
  • You : I am talking to you.
  • Him : She already informed him.
  • Her : I don't like her.
  • It : She feeds it three times a day.
  • Us : They always talk to us.
  • them : I like to play with them.

Reflexive Pronouns 

Reflexive pronouns is used when the subject and the object are the same person.
  • Myself : I did it myself.
  • Yourself : Please try to do it your self first.
  • Herself : She cut herself while she was slicing the cucumbers. 
  • Himself : He taught himself to play the guitar. 
  • Itself : The dog hurt itself. 
  • Ourselves : We need to believe in ourselves.
  • Themselves : They built the robots themselves.

Verbs

A verb shows an action or a state. There are two main types of verbs which are action verb and non-action or state verb. 
Action verb : Verb that shows action
  • run : I run 20 minutes every morning.
  • eat : My family eat dinner at 7 in the evening. 
  • go : Students go to school on weekdays.
  • play : They usually play soccer on the weekend.
  • sing : My sister sings beautifully. 
State or non-action verb : Verb that doesn't show action but state.
  • is : She is a teacher.
  • are : Lions are strong.
  • have : I have 4 markers. 
  • taste : The soup tastes salty.
  • sound : The sounds great!

Adjectives

An adjective is the quality. It is used to give more information to a noun. It is basically used before a noun and after verb to be.
  • big : Elephants are large.
  • small : I have a small car.
  • happy : She is very happy today.
  • red : ROZA likes red roses. 
  • kind : My parents are kind.

Adverbs

An adverb describes a verb. It tells how, when, or where.
Examples:
fast
slowly
Quietly
carefully
now
here
Sentence:
👉 He always drives carefully.

Prepositions

A preposition shows place, time, or direction.
Examples:
in
on
under
at
near
Sentence:
👉 The picture is on the wall.

Conjunctions

A conjunction joins words or sentences. An easy way to remember all the conjunctions is to remember this word " FANBOYS"

Interjections

An interjection shows feelings or emotions.
wow!
oh!
