 At the movie

free reading practice with keys sovatbdm

Last weekend, my friends and I were tired from work so we decided to go to the movies. We were excited because there was a new movie playing that everyone was talking about. When we arrived at the cinema, we bought tickets at the counter and grabbed some popcorn and drinks from the snack bar. The theater was dark and spacious, with rows of seats facing the big screen.

Before the movie started, we looked at the schedule to see what time it would start. As the lights were dimmed, the curtain was lifted, and the film finally started. The movie was full of action, drama, and humor. We saw characters on the screen who were dressed in costumes and special effects created exciting scenes. During a climax, the music increased in volume to build suspense.

Throughout the film, I kept an eye on the dialogue, trying to understand the new vocabulary. Sometimes, I noticed the subtitle at the bottom of the screen to help if I didn't understand a word. After the credits rolled, we clapped and discussed our favorite part of the movie. We loved how the story had an unexpected twist at the end.

Going to the movies is a fun way to relax and escape into another world. It’s a great opportunity to learn new words, enjoy entertainment, and spend quality time with friends. I can’t wait to go again and see another film on the big screen.
